Boer & Croon Corporate Finance advises KwadrantGroep with the sale of its subsidiary Van Smaak
Boer & Croon Corporate Finance has advised Stichting KwadrantGroep with the sale of its subsidiary Van Smaak B.V. to Poiesz Supermarkten. Van Smaak is active in the production and delivery of ready-to-eat meals and groceries to care institutions and independently living elderly in the north of the Netherlands. Van Smaak’s headquarters and production facility is located in Drachten. Poiesz Supermarkten is a supermarket chain which is active in the northern provinces of the Netherlands. The company is a family business with 68 supermarkets and 66 liquor stores.
KwadrantGroep has revised her strategy and wants to fully focus on its social responsibility of providing care to elderly and chronically sick people in the province of Friesland. For KwadrantGroep the transaction Van Smaak is the last step in the divestment of its non-care related activities.
Previously, KwadrantGroep divested her other non-core activities which consisted of the mobility aid companies and Dantuma. Boer & Croon Corporate Finance acted as advisor to KwadrantGroep on these transactions as well.
With the transaction the already existing partnership between Poiesz Supermarkten and Van Smaak will be further intensified through which both companies will be able to further strengthen their position in the north of the Netherlands. By combining home delivery of groceries and high-quality ready-to-eat meals, clients will have access to a complete service offering. Both organisations are convinced that the acquisition will add value in multiple ways and contributes to the continuity and potential of both companies.
